How to sign-up. Visas. Flights. Points of Contact. Don’t worry, we’re here. We know it’s a scary thing to sign up to do, so let us remove any and all of the other stresses too.
Getting to Turkmenistan is surprisingly easy. You basically need to get to Istanbul, Dubai, Bangkok, London, Milan or Frankfurt and you can fly directly from those cities. So get yourself to one of those cities and you’re good to go.
Once at Ashgabat Airport, our team will be there to greet you.
One of the hardest visas in the world, for one of the least visited countries in the world. But… we’ve got you covered. We do all the hard work. All the paperwork. All the invitations. We’ll then supply you with the paperwork you need, with permission already granted. Upon arrival in Ashgabat, you’ll provide the paperwork, and pay the $100ish fee. And you’re in! Now the hard work begins…
The trip cost is $2099, with a non-refundable deposit of $250 required upon sign-up.
Full payment is due 3 months before the race. We use ‘WeTravel’ to process our bookings and payment systems. That allows you to use your credit or debit cards, and allows for all nationalities to process international payments.
You can see more information on the Highway to Hell Ultracycle page HERE too.
If you have any payment issues, please contact johnny @ instagram.com/onestep4ward or johnny@onestep4ward.com
Our Highway to Hell Ultracycle team has been working on the event for over 12 months. We have a ratio of 1 staff member for every 3 racers. We have medical staff, satellite phones, and even access to a helicopter for emergency evacuation.
Food, water and shelter is provided throughout, and we’re just one full day drive away from the Capital at any stage. The event may feel like hell, but we have you covered. Don’t worry, just focus on getting over the next dune.
Upon arrival in Ashgabat, we will be staying in the former Sheraton (manage your expectations, it was Sheraton in about 1950, and hasn’t been touched since!). It does have a rocky-style gym though, a decent swimming pool and, most importantly, a bar.
Once we leave Ashgabat, we will be camping on night one of the race, and then if we are all alive, again camping in a Ger, or tents, at the Gates of Hell, celebrating our amazing selves. Upon completion of the event, we will recover in back in Ashgabat for a night before departure the following day. Or, if you wish to continue the trip, we’ll be off on an old Soviet night train to the Caspian Sea.
